Kickstarter

I feel very let down today. I launched a project on a filmmakers donation platform called, Kickstarter. I was pumped. I thought to myself, "You have 5oo facebook friends, and if each one of them support the documentary with a minimum pledge of $10.00 then we would be halfway to our goal of $10, 000.00." I was so confident that all my facebook friends would back the documentary Gridlock. I mean... I was asking for a minimum donation of $10.00. An amount that would go towards promoting public transit in their state, bringing jobs, business, and freedom to individual that can't afford a car, too old to dive a car, handicapped, or maybe just looking to be "greener". Now it's not my place to tell anyone how to spend their money and I shouldn't even get pissed about it, but how self involved are we as individuals that, (A) we can't support a friend in a project. (B) We can't support positive growth in our state. And (C) Your telling me that ten dollars is really going to break the bank. What is the issue? Is it the two minutes it takes to donate online? I guess I'm more confused by the lack of goodwill on the part of my "friends". I wonder where that $10.00 will be spent? I can only imagine, but so far its not on helping a friend, supporting public option/freedom, environmental cleanliness, or Wisconsin growth. I just feel very discouraged.
