Blessed Spirit

My friend Jamie wrote me today.

James Lee Mead
so in a dream i wandered streets that wavered between some existences of the Mil and good Ellison, I watched you fly by on a bicycle with a camera following fast behind, and thought, ohh this is isaiah's project! it was a big deal, streets closed and all. (and looked mildly dangerous. then i turned around to collect my... own bicycle and it had disappeared and suddenly i was on hwy 42

plans next weekend? still got a rooftop access to the vampire mansion?

Today

Being a sensitive person has a downside. You see, as an artist I nurture my perception of the world by being sensitive to my environment, and when I'm in the midst of negative energy it is very draining. It hinders the creative process.

Kickstarter

I feel very let down today. I launched a project on a filmmakers donation platform called, Kickstarter. I was pumped. I thought to myself, "You have 5oo facebook friends, and if each one of them support the documentary with a minimum pledge of $10.00 then we would be halfway to our goal of $10, 000.00." I was so confident that all my facebook friends would back the documentary Gridlock. I mean... I was asking for a minimum donation of $10.00. An amount that would go towards promoting public transit in their state, bringing jobs, business, and freedom to individual that can't afford a car, too old to dive a car, handicapped, or maybe just looking to be "greener". Now it's not my place to tell anyone how to spend their money and I shouldn't even get pissed about it, but how self involved are we as individuals that, (A) we can't support a friend in a project. (B) We can't support positive growth in our state. And (C) Your telling me that ten dollars is really going to break the bank. What is the issue? Is it the two minutes it takes to donate online? I guess I'm more confused by the lack of goodwill on the part of my "friends". I wonder where that $10.00 will be spent? I can only imagine, but so far its not on helping a friend, supporting public option/freedom, environmental cleanliness, or Wisconsin growth. I just feel very discouraged.

Holiday

The lighting of a subject is important. It creates the mood that helps the viewer interpret what they see. The eye is stimulated by the contrast of gradient from black to white, the scale of colors, the color schemes.
For my next film I need to:
choose colors that are going to be incorporated in it (make paint swatches).
decide on the iso and general exposure that expresses the style (take still picture)
draw storyboard
make shotlist
write back-stories for all the characters
write the significance of every location
create lighting style (take still pictures at each location)

decide on text style

Monday

Time is elusive; I feel it slipping away. I feel like I don't manage my time to it's fullest. I'll start managing it better tomorrow, Tuesday June 30th 2010. Tomorrow my goal is to finish editing PJ Pants and Memorial Day. I also need to complete the design for i level's website. I need to build my own website for my work.
